3. Publishing the Accessibility Statement on the Website
As of February 1, 2023, it is mandatory for all public organizations to comply with WCAG 2.1 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1) and to have an accessibility statement that describes how and to what extent their website or mobile application meets WCAG 2.1. More information can be found at https://www.uutilsynet.no/.
WCAG 2.1 consists of 47 guidelines outlining the requirements a website must meet to be considered accessible and user-friendly for everyone, regardless of ability.
You must complete the accessibility statement yourself at https://uustatus.no/. We cannot do this for you—you must log in yourself and provide the organization number along with a PIN code to complete the accessibility statement. More information about the accessibility statement can be found here.
However, in connection with this, we have partially completed a template for the accessibility statement. You can find the partially completed template under "2. Template" on this page. Note: We have not considered Nynorsk here, so if you choose to use the responses we have provided, you must translate them yourself. When completing the final accessibility statement on https://uustatus.no/, you can use the partially completed template along with your own additions to create the final version. Watch a video explaining how to complete the statement here (we recommend watching this).
We cannot complete the entire template since there are differences between your websites, even though they follow the same framework and use many of the same components. Therefore, it is best that you fill out the unique parts of your website yourself. The relevant points can be found under "1.1 What do you need to do?"
Some predefined components on the website currently do not meet all requirements, but we are working on resolving this. You are responsible for ensuring that any static content you add to the site complies with WCAG 2.1. This mainly applies to custom HTML/CSS and text components, such as the Text Content and Title components. It is especially important to keep section 2.4 in mind when doing so.
You must review and complete the following points yourself:
